Athena looked at Ennis in shock and asked, "What happened next?"
"In this world, nothing can be a secret forever. He discovered this when the treatment process was going well." Ennis shook his head, feeling extremely regretful. "The memories of killing his beloved one ran wild in his mind... What choice do you think he made?"
"Death," Athena blurted out.
Ennis nodded.
Athena turned pale and said, "Byron is just a schizophrenic. It cannot be that serious."
"Ms. Stella, you are a smart person. I believe you can understand what I mean." Ennis said gently, "The decision is in your hands."
Athena held the report tightly, and veins popped out on the back of her hand.
"I see. I will think about it carefully."
"This is the prescription." Ennis handed over a list and said, "It contains the medication instructions for his sleep and visual hallucinations."
"Thanks."
Athena took it and felt bitter.
"The case of my father's patient was decades ago. Now, technology and medical treatment are more advanced. As long as the patient cooperates with the treatment, he is sure to be cured. You see Daisy get better after the recent treatment, right? Her condition was very serious before." Ennis comforted Athena gently.
Athena nodded towards him.
Ennis said nothing more and sent Athena downstairs in person.
Athena got into the car and took two deep breaths to free her limbs from numbness.
Just when she was about to call Byron, Mike called.
Athena picked up, exhausted.
She wanted to tell Mike that he could come back and no longer needed to investigate the boy's whereabouts.
But Mike said, "Ms. Chelsea, where are you now? I just arrived at Lakin and couldn't find you."
"What's wrong?" Last time Athena heard Mike sound so solemn was when Jaxson disappeared and her grandma lost contact.
"I must see you right away!" Mike suddenly lowered his voice, as if he was trying to avoid someone.
Then, Athena heard Byron's voice, "Mike, are you looking for Athena?"
Mike hung up the phone.
At Lakin, Mike looked at Byron walking towards him.
The image of a weird lake flashed through his mind.
Mike was a terrible actor. He smiled at Byron awkwardly, "Mr. Crawford."
"Athena went to Chelsea Investment Company. What happened? Why are you in such a hurry?" Byron looked at Mike.
Byron appeared very gentle, but Mike felt a chill down his spine.
"It's nothing. It's just that I don't have anything to do here right now. There is no need for extra hands. I want Ms. Chelsea to tell Madam Stella and let me go and work for Madam Stella."
"I see," Byron responded.
Mike smiled awkwardly and nodded. "Mr. Crawford, I'm going to take a shower first. I'll talk to Ms. Chelsea when she comes back later."
