Byron was still unmoved.
The next second.
George's miserable scream came.
Athena's eyes were full of tears. She didn't beg anymore and just stared at the window in a daze, looking at George. His hand tendon had been severed.
It was her fault...
She made George suffer this...
Afterward, Athena felt the world spinning. Her body softened, and her gaze went dark. She passed out.
"Thea!"
Byron exclaimed.
He immediately asked the driver to drive to the nearby private hospital under the Crawford Group.
Athena had a nightmare.
In the dream, she was still the little girl living in Hugo Alley.
On a whim, her mother combed her many little braids.
She felt like a hedgehog, crying to find George.
George was doing homework on the bench in the yard. When he saw her crying, he immediately put down his pen and came to hug her.
"Mom is bullying me!" Athena lay on George's shoulder, crying and complaining, "I'm a little fairy, not a little hedgehog!"
"Don't be sad. I will unbraid them for you and then take you to buy a big ice cream, Okay?"
"Yes!"
George wiped Athena's tears clean.
Then he carefully unbraided her hair.
Afterward, Athena followed George to buy ice cream.
Then she held his hand in one hand and had the ice cream in the other, going home happy.
It was early summer.
The branches and leaves of the old sycamore tree in the alley were prosperous.
The two held hands and walked.
Athena stopped walking because she found that George's hand in her hand was getting more and more slippery.
She looked up blankly.
