"She is fine." Evie paused for a moment. "Aiden, take Mia to wash your hands and face."
Aiden said OK.
He then dragged Mia, who was staring at their mother like a fangirl, to the bathroom.
"What's wrong?" Athena asked in a deep voice after the children left.
"It was such a coincident..." Evie said after taking a sigh, "Mia and Aiden met Byron's grandma today."
"Huh?" Athena was shocked.
Evie covered her forehead. "Not only did they see his grandma, but Mia also volunteered to tell her stories!"
It was at noon after Mia and Aiden had lunch with Ada in the hospital, and they went to the garden to take a walk.
At that time, most patients were taking a nap in the ward.
There were very few people in the garden.
As Evie took Mia and Aiden to the garden, they happened to hear a nursing assistant chatting with a middle-aged woman.
"Looking at her condition, she can't make it through over this month," said the nursing assistant.
"Her grandson probably knows it clearly, so he asked us to do hospice care," replied the middle-aged woman.
"She is completely confused. Does she still need hospice care?" The nursing assistant shook her head.
Mia listened to their conversation. Her hand that held Evie's fingers couldn't help but clenched involuntarily.
She crossed the promenade and looked at the old lady sitting in a wheelchair in the sun.
To be honest, when Mia saw her at first sight, she was a little scared.
The old lady was so skinny, as if it was just bones under her skin.
"Evie, what's the hospice care?" Mia raised her head and asked Evie.
Evie was texting back to her workmate, so she replied casually, "It's to offer some health care to someone who is approaching the end of life to reduce their pain and suffering."
"I see."
Mia nodded thoughtfully.
"Go play. Do not go anywhere out of my sight." Evie let go of Mia's hand and said to Aiden, "Mind your steps and watch your sister."
"OK."
