When Maura came back, she saw her grandma introducing Chelsea to everyone as if Chelsea was a treasure.
She gritted her teeth and felt furious.
Then she searched the hall, and finally, her gaze landed on the servant carrying a champagne tray.
The two exchanged a quick glance.
The servant nodded and walked towards Athena.
Maura folded her arms, waiting for what would happen. She wouldn't allow Athena to show off in her house!
Athena was forced to stand in front of the crowd because of Janice.
Many eyes, with various emotions, fell upon her, one of which was particularly hot.
As Athena sensed it, she instinctively felt uneasy and dizzy.
Just then, a waiter carrying a tray bumped into her suddenly.
Then there were screams all around.
Even Janice, who was speaking on the stage, was panicked.
All the champagne in the tray was about to fall on Athena when a man wrapped his arm around her slender waist and pushed her back.
The champagne glasses shattered to the ground, and Athena dodged most of them, but one of the glasses of wine still splashed onto her right hand.
"Chelsea!"
Janice held up the hem of the dress and ran over in a hurry.
Athena stared at the watch full of diamonds on her right wrist.
She had always thought five years was long enough for her to forget everything about that man.
However...
The hand at her waist, the broad chest, and the familiar yet strange breath.
The moment she felt these things, she didn't even have to look back to know who was behind her.
"Madam Campbell, I'm fine. Thanks to this gentleman..." Athena turned her head and gave Byron a friendly smile. "Thank you."
With that said, she tried to get rid of Byron's arm.
But instead of withdrawing his hand from her waist, Byron held her even closer.
