Sadie gently put her expensive silk shawl on Athena's shoulders. "It's windy at night; it will be cold."
It was not appropriate for Athena to refuse it.
And she didn't want to have too much contact with Sadie in public.
"Thanks," Athena said.
"Go." Sadie smiled.
Athena nodded.
Then she turned around and walked in the direction of the car.
Sadie stood where she was, very satisfied.
Gabe bought this shawl for her.
And she could ask Gabe to get it back from Chelsea next time.
Her son must be handsome enough to charm Chelsea!
Then Gabe's marriage would be settled.
Nice.
Sadie quickly returned to the banquet hall.
Maura was ranting like a madman at the moment.
"All of you have been deceived by Chelsea. She is a complete villain. She has a messy personal life and a bunch of illegitimate children! I just heard her on the phone with the man she kept!"
"Asshole!" Rector shouted.
He had lived a glorious life. And hearing his granddaughter slandering others in public, he felt humiliated.
So Rector stepped forward and slapped Maura hard.
"Rector!"
Janice felt distressed and hurried up to hold Maura in her arms.
"Grandma, she called me an idiot first!" Maura covered her cheeks, crying grievously.
"Stop talking!" Janice gritted her teeth and pulled Maura away.
Jacob's face darkened.
He looked at Byron. "Byron, I'm sorry for such chaos."
Byron's expression was cold, and his tone was shockingly icy. "I think your sister is not in a good mental condition."
