"I don't..."
"Hurry up! After delivering him, there's another high fall injury case nearby!" The driver urged.
A few doctors and nurses hastily carried Byron into the car.
Byron refused to let go of Athena's hand.
She reluctantly moved forward and got into the car, her face expressionless as the ambulance siren blared, taking them to the hospital.
Inside the ambulance...
The doctor conducted some examinations on Byron.
No major issues were found.
"He should have an MRI of his head," said the doctor.
Athena nodded.
She took out her phone to call Scarlett.
"Chelsea!"
Scarlett answered within seconds.
"First of all, I'm not his wife, and I don't know him. This is ridiculous!" Athena said impatiently.
The doctors and nurses glanced at her.
Athena continued with a blank expression, "Prepare for the meeting as usual. If I don't come back in time, I'll join via video call."
"Okay!" Scarlett replied decisively.
Athena hung up.
She tried to free her hand.
But it was still gripped.
She shouldn't have called an ambulance.
She should have stuffed Byron into the car, driven him to a deserted suburb, and chopped off his hand.
Soon, they arrived at the hospital.
Public hospitals are crowded, unlike private ones.
Byron was placed in the emergency room, waiting for an MRI.
The rescue team left.
Athena patted the back of his hand. "Byron, I won't leave. Let go of my hand. You're hurting me."
Byron opened his eyes, his red eyes filled with grievances that Athena couldn't comprehend.
