Evie felt her heart was full of cotton, which hid the blades inside.
Those invisible blades could always plunge into her beating heart when she breathed.
She covered her chest and squatted slowly.
A moment later, an Aston Martin pulled up beside her.
Evie thought she had blocked someone's way.
She was about to move back when she heard a pleasant voice. "Evie."
Evie's eyes were slightly red.
She looked up at Aron, who was sitting in the back seat.
"Mr. Timberlake, haven't you left yet?" Evie stood up straight and put on a professional smile.
Aron looked at her. "Are you crying?"
Evie paused for a moment and quickly wiped her eyes. "No... no. My eyes tend to turn red when I drink too much. It's okay."
"It's hard to hail a taxi. Get in. I'll drive you home," Aron said.
Evie was very vigilant.
She was alone. Even if Aron was handsome, she couldn't let her guard down.
"Being slept on was not a big trouble."
What if he had some infectious disease?
What if he was a psychopath who tricked single women and murdered them?
When she was studying abroad, there was a murderer in the building opposite.
"No, thanks. How can I bother you?" Evie waved her hands at Aron and said, "I drove her. I'll call a substitute driver and leave."
"That's it." There was a flash of regret in Aron's eyes.
"Yeah." Evie smiled stiffly.
Aron nodded and took out his mobile phone. "Can I add you to my friend? Send me a WhatsApp message and let me know you get home safely."
The intermediary just made a chat group.
