Mia looked at Byron in surprise.
Her eyes were big and watery, and reminded Byron of the deer in a forest.
Byron's eyes filled with his strong love for Mia.
Then, he heard Mia say sympathetically, "That's sad, Byron."
Mia felt Byron was quite pitiful/ He was an adult and a father. How could he have never eaten ice cream before?
Moments later...
Mia and Byron bought ice cream, sat on chairs outside the shop, and ate them slowly.
"Did you and your grandmother get along?" Mia chatted with Byron as she ate.
Byron looked ahead and was silent for a moment. "She was strict with me."
Mia nodded.
"So that's why he hasn't eaten ice cream by now?" Mia guessed.
"But she gave me everything she could." Byron withdrew his gaze and looked at Mia beside him. "So, we got along."
"Madam Stella and I are very close, too," Mia said. She seemed to have thought of something and stopped eating. "I hope that Madam Stella won't have to die. If she dies, I won't be able to see her again. I don't want that."
In fact, Mia was not in a good mood today.
She saw the black box for the first time. Evie said that Byron's grandma was inside.
But she had seen Alivia before. Although she was thin, she was still a big human being. How could she fit into a small box?
Then Evie told her that she was cremated after death.
There was not much left after being cremated. The small box was their home after that.
"Do you miss Madam Stella, Mia?" Byron asked gently.
Mia looked at him and nodded. "Madam Stella's son is dying. I can't disturb her."
