That was how it was.
Athena and Byron, unharmed, left the funeral home and got in the car to head back.
After they left, the red dots locked on their foreheads vanished.
"Find him! Find the damn sniper and turn him into a honeycomb!" Lien was furious.
This whole neighborhood was her territory!
And yet, a sniper had infiltrated it, aiming at her head!
However, what made Lien even angrier was that her useless subordinates hadn't found the sniper that Byron had brought, even by the time the assassins sent to deal with Jaclyn returned.
"Add four bodyguards, a total of 7 lives." With a hoarse voice, the skinny man handed a piece of paper with an account number to Lien. "A total of seven million."
"I'm lucky I have you. If everyone was as useless as these idiots, why would I even fight with Chelsea? I might as well just surrender!" Lien ranted in anger.
The skinny man didn't respond to that.
Instead, he said, "It's not that they're useless. Do you know what kind of person Byron is? Even I can't guarantee that I could kill him."
Lien's face grew darker. "The noise you made this time was a bit too loud!"
"I had no choice. Your mother-in-law's bodyguards were very vigilant. I couldn't confront them directly, so I had to use a powerful explosive." The man spoke in a hoarse voice.
He never seemed to avoid his weaknesses.
"When the fire is out, and the police have collected the bodies, I have to go and identify them... It disgusts me just to think about it." Lien's brows furrowed.
The assassin didn't comfort her. "The job is done. I have to work now."
Lien remained silent.
The work the assassin mentioned was cleaning up in the funeral home.
"I don't understand you. You've earned tens of millions from the bounties I've paid you. Why do you still do this dirty work?"
The assassin glanced at Lien. "Murder is the dirty work. Cleaning is my legitimate job."
After saying this.
He hunched his body and slowly walked away.
Although he didn't manage to kill Chelsea and Byron.
