Chapter 89 The Embarrassment
Winter in Girard City came early this year.
But Athena only needed to wear a thin coat in Salin City.
Standing at the crowded exit of the station when she returned, coldness flashed over her body.
Heather was beautiful and extravagant enough to attract attention by just standing there.
Someone in the crowd recognized her and shouted, “Isn’t she the girl who was born with a silver spoon and married the heir of the Crawford Group, which became the trending topic?”
“It’s her! She is gorgeous!”
“But why does she come here at this o’clock? It’s so late.”
“There is no other answer than picking up her fiancé. Look over
there…”
Byron looked gloomy.
He subconsciously looked at Athena.
Her face was pale, flustered, and upset.
“I didn’t know she was coming,” He whispered.
“Isn’t it normal to come to pick up her fiancé?” Her tone was flat. “Mr. Crawford, you’d better hurry up since someone has already recognized you, and don’t let those with ulterior motives take photos and show off their publicity stunt.”
His face was more sombre, like the freezing wind in midwinter.
But he still walked over there.
She followed behind him with downcast eyes.
She felt so fucking embarrassed.
“Why are you here?” Byron walked up to Heather and asked in a cold tone.
Heather smiled, “Mom and I went shopping in New York, and we just returned not long ago. Mom knew you were coming back, so she asked me to pick you up.”
Heather looked at Athena while saying that.
Her smile was as gentle and generous as she had acted before. “Miss Newton, is your hand fine?”
Athena raised her clear eyes. “Mrs. Crawford, thank you for asking, and it’s good.”
Byron scarily looked at Athena.
“Mr. Crawford, I will prepare the related materials for the
meeting and send them to your e–mail.” Athena nodded slightly. “And now I have to leave.”
“Miss Newton, it’s so late, and given your safety, why not take the ride with us?” Heather said hastily.
She smiled, “Thanks, but no.”
She didn’t want to involve in this designed drama and gave a straight answer.
The probing eyes around her made her very uncomfortable.
She was like standing on hot charcoal.
She walked straight toward the direction where the taxi was parked.
“Unexpectedly, Byron, you like the iceberg beauty type?” Watching Athena’s slim back, Heather glanced at Byron.
But he remained silent and kept a straight face.
He was very annoyed and barely wanted to conceal it.
“So, what’s your trick this time?” He asked.
;
“A superstar took the flight a little later than yours. Look around and see these fans and entertainment reporters.” Heather smiled, but her tone was very helpless. “Mom knew you were with Miss Newton and worried they may take photos of you guys. That’s the reason why I came here.”
In Byron’s peripheral vision, he did see some people putting up their cameras.
