Archer and Poppy shared the same way of talking.
They liked asking many questions in one breath, which was quite lovely.
"No. There is no insatiable waterman. It's a kind boss. You go home and don't worry about anything. I will tell you everything when I come back!" Archer said hastily.
"Okay! Come back safe and sound!"
Then they hung up the video call.
The huge weight finally lifted off Archer's shoulders.
He returned the phone to Athena with both hands. "Mrs. Crawford, thank you. I will do whatever you need from now on!"
Athena took the phone and asked, "You really don't want anything else?"
Archer shook his head firmly. "A thing for a thing. It's fair!"
"What's wrong with your mom?" Athena asked.
Archer lowered his eyes and replied, "She has a heart problem. The doctor said it can be relieved, but there is no way to cure it."
"How old are you?" Athena asked.
"Seventeen, and I'll be eighteen years old next month!"
"You're still underage. How about I have someone pick up your sister and mother here? First, you need your parents' signature for your donation. Second, I know a brilliant cardiologist who can diagnose your mother."
"Really? Is the doctor great?" Archer's eyes lit up immediately.
Athena nodded. "A world-class expert."
"How much does it cost?" Archer asked cautiously.
When his mother suddenly fell ill, treatment cost them a lot of money, and they hadn't paid off until now.
However, his mother was more important than his and Poppy's lives.
If there were hope, he would risk his life to give it a try.
"You can afford it," Athena smiled gently, "Then I'll arrange for them to come over?"
"Mrs. Crawford, if you can save my mom, I will work for you for the rest of my life to pay you back!" Archer said with a sob.
