Athena was slightly taken aback.
Byron had always been a workaholic.
He single-handedly built up Imbe Group and treated it like his own child.
Recently, he had been slackening, but Athena never imagined that one day Byron would suggest quitting running Imbe Group.
"Why?" she asked, furrowing her brows.
"I'm tired," Byron replied. "In two years, you'll take over Stella Group. After that, you won't be able to stay in Mailand for a long time. Once I quit running Imbe Group, we can all move together."
"You want to be a full-time dad?" Athena hesitated for a moment, finding it hard to believe.
Byron smiled. "Not exactly. I'll make sure the management team runs Imbe Group, but I'll handle the major issues. Besides, I'll be in charge of Imbe Group's overseas business after we move."
Athena lowered her eyes and pondered for a moment. "Byron, I hope you're making this decision not because of me and the children. There's a long way to go in the future. I don't want you to resent me and the children later."
Athena had seen too many couples become estranged because of this.
When they were in love, they put each other first in everything. But when they fell out of love, they blamed each other for hindering their own prospects.
"It won't happen," Byron said firmly. "You and the children are the most important people in my life. I just want to live with you all."
Byron's gaze was intense and sincere.
Athena shifted her gaze.
"Anyway, it's not a small matter. You need to think carefully," she reminded him.
Byron looked disappointed and frustrated.
It seemed that no matter what he did, he couldn't really touch her and would only make her wary.
In fact, he knew that what happened in the past had made her no longer rely on and trust him.
"I will," Byron responded. "By the way, I heard Ambrose's twins are well-behaved and sensible."
"Hmm. Edith teaches them very well. They are completely different from Ambrose." Athena nodded.
