My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1005

I felt the corner of my mouth twitch. That breakfast was for Evan, so I looked back at Rowane and said, "Miss Zanes, Evan actually hasn't eaten yet."

Rowane was stunned. After hesitating for a moment, she handed the box in her hand to Evan and said, "Evan, do have some!"

Evan was about to decline, but Rowane had already put the box into his hands.

He smiled shyly and accepted the offer.

No one spoke in the car, until Rowane said to Hendrix, "Mr. Roberts, it is Valentine's Day today. Do you have any plans for tonight?"

What? Was this woman trying to make a date with Hendrix?

I couldn't help but look over to Hendrix, who was driving seriously. He just said lightly, "I have work to do tonight!"

Was he trying to imply that he had no time to waste?

Rowane smiled and didn't at all feel embarrassed. She continued, "Your work tonight should be done in a jiffy, right? Why don't we have dinner after?"

Hendrix looked sideways at me. It was deep and dark. Then he asked, "What are you doing tonight?"

Why was he asking me this? "I'll just be relaxing at home," I spluttered.

He responded with a hum and said to Rowane over his shoulder, "I'll be having dinner at home."

His rejection was obvious. Rowane just grunted in acknowledgment and didn't say anything further, but she didn't look very happy.

The car ride was silent all the way to Lancille Village. The Milton Group had built a temporary office space there in order to facilitate the project.

I clocked in and communicated with the staff, in preparation to head over to the Roberts Group's developmental grounds for an overview.
