My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1007

The voice came from behind me. I looked back and saw Rowane looking out of place in such a messy and mud-filled environment.

I moved a steel frame under my feet to one side, dusted the dirt off my hands, and said, "Aren't you afraid of falling down? Your high heels look quite expensive!"

She sneered. "A few thousand dollars isn't expensive, but you..."

As she spoke, she looked at me from head to toe mockingly and said, "It seems that Hendrix really treated you indifferently. You're the most shoddy wife of a president that I've ever seen. Your phone, everything on your body, the cost of it is a mere five thousand dollars or less, am I right?"

I smiled uncaringly, "Well, it's okay. It's just worldly possessions."

She sneered. "You don't have to pretend indifference. Let me give you a suggestion. If you divorce Hendrix sooner, I can give you some money. You can't beat me anyway. It's a pity that you keep delaying it like this."

"Some money?" I smiled with curiosity and asked, "How much will you be willing to give?"

Sensing victory, she retorted in disdain. "How much do you want?"

"The key is that I don't know how much you can give!" This was the truth. Her current income was supposedly 7-digits annually, so she should be able to give a generous amount.

"50 thousand dollars! That gets you a two-bedroom house in Asherton." She said in a really generous tone.

I smiled lightly. "50 thousand dollars. I might have to work really hard to get that amount of money."

"Of course!" She crossed her arms and looked at me haughtily, preening like a spoiled peacock.

I looked down at what I was wearing and realized that it was reasonable for her to be so arrogant.

After all, my clothes were only 500 dollars. Compared with her designer clothes, they would be shabby.

"What do you think? Are you considering it?" She asked as she took a few steps towards me. "Since you don't love Hendrix, why don't you give him up to me? I can still give you some money, and you can live the life you want with the money."

I smiled and said, "It sounds like a really good offer." Looking at her, I frowned slightly, "But, how do you know that he will choose you in the end?" "There is no woman who is more suitable for him than me. As long as we have children in the future, he will give me his heart. When a person reaches a certain age, love will fade away anyway. He will put his heart and soul into his family. Don't you think so, Arianna?"

"Yes! You're right." I pursed my lips and laughed in a low voice. "It seems that you understand this quite well, Miss Zanes, but have you ever thought about the fact that there are so many eligible women in Jarold City? Even if Hendrix has been married before, he is still quite a catch. Plenty of women will be falling all over themselves to win his hand in marriage. Do you think you have the ability to match all these ladies? You really need to carefully reconsider, because many of them are prettier than you expect."

Unconcerned at seeing her face tighten with anger, I continued, "As for abilities, you are not bad, but compared to many other influential young ladies in Jarold City, who are all proficient in chess, arts, calligraphy, and more, you seem to be lacking. Furthermore, Hendrix has everything. He has money and resources, so if he were to remarry, the type of woman that he will choose will probably not be one that prioritizes work, but rather someone who has the ability to become a mother that will care for their children and in-laws. Come to think of it, you seem to be lacking in these aspects, am I right?"
