Rowane's paled when she saw Naomi holding the knife. She was afraid and took a few steps back, nearly dropping the fruits in her hands on the ground.
"Miss Attwood, what are you doing?" Rowane asked in fear. She leaned against Hendrix and seemed to have gained some confidence from this.
Naomi ignored her question. She suppressed her anger and said to her, "Return me my stuff!"
Rowane was puzzled and did not understand what she was talking about. She asked in confusion, "What do you want?"
"The bracelet!" Naomi bellowed, "Do you think anyone is qualified to wear my grandmother's bracelet? Why are you so shameless? When Grandfather is confused, do you think you can trick him to get the bracelet? Miss Zanes, aren't you embarrassed?"
Naomi's tirade attracted other people. Tina ran over, not knowing what had happened. She asked in bewilderment, "What's going on?"
"Why are you holding a knife? It's too dangerous. If you have anything to say, calm down first and put the knife down!" Rainie said. She cautiously reached out to take the knife in Naomi's hand, but Naomi refused to hand it to her.
She looked at the others and said angrily, "You should mind your own business. This matter is between me and her. None of you should interfere!"
At that moment, no one else knew what was going on. They could only stand aside, frowning and looking at the girls worriedly.
Rowane had probably come to her senses as well. After all, there were so many people here. It was impossible for Naomi to do anything to her.
She looked at Naomi and said, "Naomi, are you always so unreasonable? This bracelet was given to me by your grandfather. Today, Mr. Roberts and Miss Reid were there to witness. They saw it with their own eyes. Why did you say I've cheated your grandfather? What? Do you have a reason to take back the things that the Attwood family had gave? If this situation were to spread out to the public, I'm afraid the reputation of the Attwood family of Asherton will be tarnished!"
"Disgusting!" Naomi is not very patient. When she is too vexed, she won't show any mercy. She shouted, "This bracelet is a gift from my grandfather to the young mistress of the Robert's family. Which family are you from? How dare you accept my grandmother's stuff?" "Heh!" Rowane sneered. Her gaze fell on me as she said mockingly, "It's you, right? Arianna, you've really changed my view of you. You kept rejecting his feelings but you are still reluctant to part with the benefits he was giving to you? What's wrong? When you see me wearing the bracelet, were you jealous? Did you think you have the right to take it? Did you call Naomi for help and asked someone else to do your dirty work? A word of advice, you should take whatever you want yourself. Just say it out loud and I'll give it to you. As long as Mr. Roberts agrees, it's all yours. Why do you have to use this kind of revolting method?"
I scoffed and wanted to laugh at the same time. Seeing that Naomi was about to retrieve the bracelet, I raised a hand to stop her. I looked at Hendrix, who had been standing as a bystander, and cast my gaze on Rowane.
I said mildly, "You think too much. Naomi is the one who didn't want you to have the bracelet. It wasn't me who ordered her to do it. Firstly, I have nothing to do with Hendrix. Whoever he gives the bracelet to is none of my concern. Secondly, she doesn't want you to wear it, which shows that you are unworthy of it."
"You..." She was so indignant that her face turned a deep red. She looked at Hendrix and said pitifully, "Mr. Roberts, I'll give you back the bracelet. I won't keep it."
Then, she immediately took off the bracelet from her wrist and dropped it into Hendrix's hand.
Hendrix didn't say anything and looked at me. His eyes were pitch-black and cold.
When Rowane was about to leave, he grabbed her wrist. Startled, she looked at him in surprise.
