"You..." Although Rowane was angry, she still shut her mouth when she saw Evan's angry facial expression.
She then turned around to scrutinize the machinery and then described the damage done in a loud voice.
I got that she was doing that on purpose, just so I would hear her.
It was then I noticed the marks on the wall, and I couldn't help but go up and took a closer look at them. The place where the machine had smashed into just then had a layer of white paint chipped off, revealing the bricks inside.
Seeing that I was looking at them carefully, Evan said, "Madam, there are too many people here and it's so chaotic. Why don't you head over into the office?"
I looked back at him and asked, "Was this base built by the Milton Group or the Roberts Group?"
Despite feeling that my question was strange, he still replied, "The Milton Group. What's the matter?"
I shook my head. Looking at the wall, I subconsciously knocked on it. It sounded hollow
to me.
However, nothing else looked out of the ordinary!
"Miss Reid, can you come over and verify the data?" Hugo came over with a large pile of documents in his arms.
I nodded and withdrew my gaze. I took the data from Hugo's hands and asked, "All of these haven't been taken care of?"
Hugo nodded as he replied, "It's almost the end of the month. I had to sort out these items earlier and report them to the higher-ups. I'm getting old and didn't receive much education. I'll have to trouble you!"
I scanned the files in my hands and nodded. Then, I asked, "Mr. Lance, are the walls of this base built according to the specifications of the temporary buildings?"
He shook his head, "No, this base was built strictly in accordance with the management standards of a residential house. In order to ensure that the base is quiet, the foundation was built one and a half times wider. The walls are really thick!"
The answer wasn't what I anticipated. I couldn't help but look at the spot that I'd crashed into just then. However, since Hugo was in a hurry, I stopped asking questions and started working on the files.
My back started to ache after a long day. After I got off work, Hendrix sent me a text, telling me that he had already arrived in Jarold City.
I was so tired that I went back to the hotel without having dinner. When I came out of the bathroom after a shower, my phone rang.
