He stopped and didn't look back at me, as if he was waiting for me to say something.
"Are you all right?" I don't know why they came here. With his dark coloring, he stood out in this city. His messy look was something I've never seen on him either.
"I'm fine!" After responding to me, he walked away.
I stood in the alley for a while, dumbstruck. The rain was getting heavier. I came to my senses when the bodyguards approached with an umbrella in a belated attempt to shield me from the rain
"Did he follow me for a long time?" I asked the bodyguard.
He nodded. "It's been a while!"
"Hendrix knows?"
"Mr. Roberts only knows that someone is following you, but he doesn't know who he is."
I nodded.
The bodyguard handed his phone to me and said, "Mr. Roberts asked you to answer the phone!"
I eyed the phone but didn't move to take it. "Take
me back!"
He was shocked but kept his opinions to himself. He led me out of the alley and back to the car.
The villa was dark inside when we returned. But Hendrix's black Bentley was parked outside.
He was back.
I took a bracing breath and walked in. I opened the door, kicked my shoes off, and turned on the entrance lights.
Hendrix's face was dark, and there was a hint of barely concealed anger on his handsome face.
