He looked at me, his pupils constricted. "I underestimated you!"
I didn't say a word. I just looked at him with no expression on my face, waiting for his decision. His dark eyes swept over the Roulette wheel, and the corners of his mouth curled upward. "I have to say, this condition is very interesting!"
Then, he raised his hand and snapped his fingers. He looked at me and said, "Let's play. But since you are a woman, I'll take it easy on you."
I smiled faintly and said as if it did not matter, "No need for that. It's better to be fair!"
He raised his eyebrows, walked to the other end of the table, and said, "Let's begin!"
I walked to the other side of the table. He looked at me and said, "Ladies first!" while extending his palm like a gentleman inviting a lady to dance.
Unflinchingly, I pressed the button in my hand and the Roulette wheel began to spin. After god-knows-how many spins, the pointer stopped at the number 7, just as I expected.
With a faint smile on my face, I looked at him and said, "Mr. Hayes, I'm sorry, that's really humiliating."
He shrugged and said in a calm tone, "It looks like I'm going to lose."
As he said that, he threw the card in his hand on the pointer of the Roulette wheel. The card hit the pointer, and it started moving quickly. It was not long before the pointer slowed down and stopped at the number 8.
Everyone at the table could not help but let out a sigh as if they were sorry for the result. However, Tobias was not anxious. He just looked at it casually with his dark eyes, as if he did not care about the final result at all. Two seconds later, the pointer swayed and stopped at the number 7. It was incredible.
He looked at me and said with a pretend pity, "It stopped at the number 7. What a pity. Mrs. Roberts, you almost won!"
