Seeing Kaleb there wasn't much of a surprise.
At the table, Hendrix and Kaleb each held a card. Rather than a casual game, it seemed as if they were in the midst of a negotiation. Everyone in the room turned to look at me when I entered the room.
Hendrix was stunned for a moment before he walked over to me and asked, "Why are you here?" As he spoke, he glanced at Tobias. Tobias shrugged and said, "I can't afford to offend you!" Kaleb looked at me with his eyes narrowed slightly. There was confusion in his eyes. It seemed like he no longer remembered who I was. Not surprising considering he had defiled many girls. I was just one of the many girls he had captured. What made me special was probably that I had escaped from him and I was lucky not to be harmed by him.
He looked at Hendrix and I, and his eyes lit up, as if he suddenly remembered something. "It's you!" he looked at me and said.
I gave him a smile. "Mr. Kaleb, long time no see!"
He squinted at Hendrix and let out a chuckle. I didn't understand what he meant.
"Bringing a woman in - what are you planning to do, Mr. Hayes?" Kaleb asked with a hint of dissatisfaction.
Tobias didn't react. He looked at Hendrix and said, "Mr. Roberts, it's getting late. I think Mrs. Roberts is tired too. You guys should go back and get some rest!"
"Tobias, are you kidding me?" Enraged, Kaleb threw the cards in his hand.
Tobias didn't look at him. He continued to say to Hendrix, "You guys are going to Hayes Mansion to visit Grandfather tomorrow. It's better to not stay up too late." It was obvious that he was urging Hendrix.
