I was surprised to see Kaleb at the cemetery. Like many others there, he was dressed in a black suit. His face reflected the atmosphere and weather around us. One could say he was the epitome of gloom.
Tobias didn't react when he saw Kaleb, instead, he greeted him politely.
As I saw him walking towards Hendrix and me, I subconsciously moved behind Hendrix's back. I was truly terrified of that person.
"Mr. Roberts, we meet again. What a coincidence!" he said with a faint smile on his face.
Hendrix looked at him, expressionless, and said, "Yes, we meet again. I thought you had left Oakland."
Kaleb burst into laughter. "Why would I? This is where I will be reborn. If I had left just like that, I'll be too embarrassed to see you guys in the future."
Hendrix gave him a cold look and made no reply to Kaleb.
A conceited smile appeared on Kaleb's face. "It seems that Mr. Roberts doesn't like talking to me very much. No matter, well have plenty of time in the future. Let's talk some other time!"
He left right after that.
I heaved a sigh of relief and tugged on Hendrix's sleeve. "Hendrix, let's go!"
Hendrix nodded. He looked at Tobias and wordlessly told him our intention. Then he nodded to me and said, "Let's go!"
I followed closely behind Hendrix and saw a glimpse of Kaleb. His stare sent shivers down my spine. He looked like he was plotting our demise.
