Tobias shook his head and said, "He disappeared on the day you got into trouble."
How could it be possible? Would Sebastian kill Kaleb? It was hard to explain this possibility. Didn't they work together? How could they kill each other?
I looked at Eason and confirmed again, "Are you sure that the body is Kaleb?"
Eason nodded and didn't look like he was lying. "That night, it was Kaleb who brought those people to block you. After Mr. Roberts was pulled out of the car, the murderer in the other car killed Kaleb without any hesitation. If you don't believe me, you can take a look at the body. He was shot in the chest. After that, he was stabbed with a knife as they were afraid that he would not die. After they confirmed that he was dead, they poured sulfuric acid on him. I witnessed the scene. I won't lie to you!" he said.
The room was silent for a while. Tobias looked at Eason and said coldly, "Since you did well today, I'll let you go. You better behave yourself in the future. If you dare to play tricks on me again, I'll kill you."
Then, he raised his eyes and signaled to his men. Eason was brought out of the room, and only Hendrix, Tobias, and I remained.
Seeing that they didn't speak, I couldn't help asking, "Why did Sebastian kill Kaleb?" I knew since Myanway that the relationship between Kaleb and Sebastian was not simple. Even if Kaleb was in trouble now, he was still not weak enough for Sebastian to look down upon him and even kill him. What's more, even if Sebastian had a lot of power, he still couldn't run from the arm of the law. How could he kill anyone so openly and without fear?
Hendrix frowned slightly, looked at Tobias and said, "You deal with the police station. I'll send someone here to Oakland to deal with matters in the office."
Tobias frowned and said to him, "Wait a minute, Mr. Roberts, what you said doesn't make sense. It seems that you're going to leave everything here to me and return to your country as nothing happened?"
"If you want the Hayes Family to be destroyed by you, I can stay here!" Hendrix looked at him coldly and said. "Sebastian is planning a big game. The management of Oakland's foreign trade is not the only thing he wants," he continued.
"What do you mean?" Tobias asked. He frowned and stared at him seriously.
Hendrix gave him a thoughtful look. Then, he got up and said to me, "Let's go. We have to go back as soon as possible."
I was a little confused, but I still followed him.
After coming out of the room, we passed by a cabin and saw a couple in the midst of a fight. At first, I thought it was a couple of strangers. When I came closer, I discovered that it was Eason and that lady.
"I'm blind. How did I ever fall in love with you? How can you be so disgusting? Is Tobias that b*stard better than me?" Eason bellowed while raising his hand to slap the lady.
After a number of slaps, the lady's face was red and swollen. She looked a little embarrassed. The charming woman had became a mess now.
It seemed that the woman was used to his violence. After being beaten by him many times, she accepted her fate and behaved like a puppet, letting Eason insult and abuse her.
I couldn't help frowning as I watched them. I walked up to stop Eason and said to him, "If I were you, I wouldn't even be here at this moment. Do you really think that despite almost killing Hendrix, your life is spared just because you came clean about it? If it weren't for her, you would have been in the sea by now. Live your own life. Don't f*cking rely on a woman to stay alive yet still be such an ungrateful b*stard!"
