Anne cried in pain. He looked at her and wanted to say something, but nothing came out. After a moment, he glanced at the doctor and said, "What do I need to do? Let's hurry up and get it over with!"
Several doctors took him away to do a physical examination. Austin also arrived, followed by Andrea. Judging from their awkward interaction, they probably quarreled.
Josiah went to do a checkup. Hendrix and Austin seemed to have something to discuss with each other. The two went out. Valerie and Pedro's relationship with Andrea was very awkward and strained.
It was hate, yet it was more complicated than that. In fact, I could somewhat understand it. In the beginning, the couple gave all their love and protection to Andrea and tried their best to fill that hole in her heart. But because of her, they caused me so much pain.
Andrea wasn't to be blamed since they both willingly did so as well. However, all of this was caused by her provocation. In short, everything was complicated.
It was probably because of this that Valerie and Pedro did not publicly deny Andrea's identity back then. Now that they ran into each other, the whole atmosphere felt awkward.
Andrea was facing an inner struggle as well. Whenever she came face to face with them, she would feel a mix of emotions.
However, it was still awkward. Andrea left the ward and sat in the rest area. I went out as well and sat down beside her.
She gave me a sideways glance and said indifferently, "It seems that disasters keep happening now that Hendrix is with you. I'm starting to suspect that your existence is a curse to him."
I didn't really care about her sarcasm. I spoke softly, "I thought you accepted my relationship with Hendrix. I didn't expect you to still be living in your own dreams."
"You..." She glared at me in annoyance, "Arianna, what's there to be proud of? Do you really think you're great? Hendrix will abandon a woman like you sooner or later."
"I'm pregnant!" Looking at her fierce expression, I said calmly with a faint smile, "Hendrix and I are getting better. We are destined to be together forever."
Seeing her contorted facial features, I suddenly pitied her. For so many years, she only lived in other people's shadows and never knew what she wanted.
"You're pregnant, so what? As long as I'm here, your relationship will collapse. Hendrix hasn't gotten over me yet, he still wants me. Arianna, you can forget about being happy for the rest of your life!"
I looked at her. I was not angry nor was I being sarcastic. I merely said calmly, "Andrea, have you ever thought about your own life?"
She was stunned for a moment and glared at me, "It's none of your business!"
I shrugged, "Since you were born, you lived under the protection of your parents. Then it was your brother Casper, and then Hendrix and Austin. I never understood how a woman could be as ignorant as you. Your parents and brother left you, but you don't seem to understand that you can't always rely on others to live. Have you ever thought about what will happen to you if Hendrix and Austin are not around anymore? How are you going to live?"
