My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1398

Abby took my hand and whispered in my ear, "Madam Reid, Susan asked if you can take her away."

I was stunned for a moment and didn't know how to answer. After all, I was not one of the villagers. Therefore, it would be impossible for me to take her away without anyone noticing. However, if I took her away secretly, I was afraid that we would be stopped by the villagers before we could go far. After all, a powerful dragon cannot crush a snake in its old haunts.

Abby was a little sad when she saw my frown, but she still quietly went to look for Susan. I knew what she would say to Susan, but I still didn't change my mind.

I had a child in my belly. I had to think about my own baby. If I caused any trouble here, Sheridan alone wouldn't be able to keep me safe, so I couldn't afford to act rashly.

After a while, Gail came back on a motorcycle. Sitting behind him was a 1.7 meters tall dark-skinned boy with cold and lewd eyes.

I couldn't help but frown. When I saw the way this child looked, I couldn't help but wonder if I was overthinking.

I immediately pulled my thoughts back as Gail helped the boy to get down from the motorcycle. The woman ran to the boy anxiously, bent over and carried the boy on her back. Then, she whispered, "My dear baby, what did the doctor say? Is everything all right?"

Gail frowned and said, disgruntled, "Susan is trying to break my family line. She's so harsh. Fortunately, the doctor said he is okay. We just have to make sure he has a good rest at home. You carry him into the house and take good care of him. I'll go find Susan. That little b*tch must be tired of living."

I was stunned when I heard these words coming from the mouth of a father. I had never came across a father who would scold and insult his daughter like this before.

The woman agreed and said viciously, "If not for the Caulfield family, who are coming to pick up the bride later, you would have beaten that little b*tch to death."

Gail opened the door of the cow pen but didn't go in. Instead, he stood at the door and shouted, "Susan, you almost made me lose my son. That's your brother. How could you do that to him?

Upon hearing that, Susan laughed and said in a somewhat despondent voice, "How could I do that to him? Why didn't you ask me why I did that? He is your son, but am I not your daughter? Am I so worthless in your eyes? Gail Hathaway, you are raising a son, not a king. You sold your daughters, one after another, just because of your son. Karma will get you one day."

Gail didn't take her words seriously at all. He said blankly, "Be good and marry that fool from the Caulfield family. You won't live your life in vain after you give birth to a son for them. Otherwise, don't ever think of coming back."

Was this something a father should say?

Inside the bullpen, Susan's faint smile looked particularly sad, which chilled me down to my bones.

After scolding her, Gail stopped talking and went back to the house. When he passed by us, he greeted us with a smile. I had no way to describe my bad mood.

The few other girls quickly stood aside after being intimidated by Gail, and looked around to see if there was anything they could help with. I seemed to be able to anticipate that they might be the second and third Susan in the future. It would also be impossible for them to escape from their fates when they grow up in the future.
