My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1458

I was worried that Dahlia would alert Sebastian. By then, I might not have the chance to convince Bobbie to expose him, before Sebastian got to him.

It wasn't a tough task to find out Dahlia's whereabouts. After all, we were both from the same social circle. It could be done within a snap of the fingers. The houses in Nulens Garden went up to the price of twenty thousand dollars and above per square feet, where each unit measured about one hundred and fifty square feet. That would cost approximately three million for a unit. Dahlia shouldn't have been able to afford such a luxurious place without a stable income or any extra projects. No wonder Tina and Rainie found it suspicious. Not to mention that Dahlia, who came from the countryside, would have found it difficult to earn so much money in just a few months, to be able to buy a car and a house of her own.

Sebastian must have given her tons of money. The question was, what had she done for Sebastian, that he would be willing to pay her such a great amount of money? He didn't seem to be such a generous man. I was feeling confused at that point. Did Dahlia participate in many of Sebastian's illegal deals, and it made her rich overnight?

I couldn't think of a way to get into Nulens Gardens, where security was tight. Outsiders needed the resident's permission to get in. Thus, I could only observe from the entrance of the residential area.

It was the silliest method, but it indeed worked. After waiting for the whole afternoon, around four o'clock, I saw Dahlia's car enter, a black Mercedes Benz that cost around one million dollars.

Looking at the car entering the basement, I called Rainie. I wanted to ask her if she could call Dahlia up for a meet-up. Before I could make that call, I received an incoming call from Hendrix.

I then briskly picked up the call. Before I could even greet him, Hendrix's voice came from the other end. "Why were you sitting out there for the whole day? What's wrong?"

I was stunned for a moment, but I suddenly remembered that he had a few bodyguards protecting and looking after me from afar. "Nothing, I just wanted to keep an eye on Dahlia. I waited outside her area because security is extremely strict. I can't find a way to get in, so I waited here."

After a moment of silence on the phone, Hendrix then said, exasperated, "When will you remember that your husband isn't a poor man, Arianna?"

I was confused by what he said, then he continued, "The developer of Nulens Gardens gave me a few units. I'll send someone to pass the keys to you in a moment. But why are you investigating Dahlia?"

"She adopted Bobbie's child. I was just wondering if I can find anything that might be able to convince Bobbie." Bobbie's testimony might be useful in building a case against Sebastian.

Hendrix paused slightly before he said, "Don't get yourself involved in this, Arianna. I will take care of this. You'll just need to take good care of your health In Jarold City. You can come over to Oakland anytime if you get bored."

I had a feeling that Hendrix had more to say on the phone, but he wasn't willing to share it at that moment. I got a little annoyed and said, "I want to stay in Asherton. Sebastian had been fooling me all this while. I'd feel extremely uncomfortable if I didn't send him into jail myself."

Hendrix sounded a little speechless. "It's not time yet, but don't worry. Leave things to me, and I'll deal with everything."

I pursed my lips, feeling that Hendrix was treating me like a child. As soon as I thought this, I felt even more agitated by the situation that I was in.

Once I hung up the call, someone sent over the keys to Nulens Gardens. I took the keys and drove into the residential area with a lot on my mind.
