"Get away from us!" Yana shoved her away and roared at her, "Andrea, don't drag us down with you! You better stay away from us. We don't want to end up like you."
Yana's words irritated Andrea. She suddenly shouted with a ferocious expression, "Mrs. Roberts, you're married to the great Hendrix, so I'm curious to know, what are you doing at a place like this? Why did you suddenly grow an interest in people like us? Aren't you afraid that you will be kidnapped and held for ransom from Mr. Roberts?"
"Stop spewing nonsense!" Yana responded. She looked at Andrea and said, "You already ended up here, yet you're still trying to drag others down with you. Let me tell you this, we are only here to see how desperate and ridiculous you've ended up."
Yana tugged on my arm, but Andrea blocked our path. Andrea then said to the crowd, "Everyone, look here. She's the wife to the president of the Roberts Group. If you keep her here, I'm sure Mr. Roberts will pay you millions of dollars just to get her out."
Was Andrea trying to instigate others to kidnap me and blackmail Hendrix?
Yana was speechless. "Andrea, what's wrong with you? I can't believe you're involving yourself in things like this. How shameless can you be?"
Andrea didn't seem bothered at all. Her grudges against me weren't swayed. I knew that she wouldn't be able to let go of this easily. I'd pictured several scenarios of her future, but it never occurred to me that she would end up like this. We still had a long way ahead in our lives. There were plenty of possibilities waiting for us in the future. Yet she seemed to have given up on hers already.
I didn't want to dwell on this with her. This place wasn't safe to begin with, and I just wanted to leave. Moreover, I wasn't that concerned about Andrea anyway. It was her life and her decisions to make, which had nothing to do with me. I didn't have to get involved in this.
I pushed her aside and dragged Yana away. Andrea grabbed my hand and said, "Arianna, you're already here. Do you think I'll let you go so easily?"
As she spoke, she shouted towards the crowd in the alley, "Give her an injection, and I'll give you everything I have. Come on!"
I was stunned. Yana immediately tried to pull her away from me, but Andrea shoved her to the side and yelled at her, "Get lost if you don't want to die."
I struggled against her grasp, but Andrea was too strong and I couldn't move at all.
To the people in the alley, the thing Andrea had was exactly what they lived for. They wouldn't be bothered by the fact that they committed a crime, if it meant they could get hold of it. Thus, after Andrea made herself clear, they started running towards me, with needles in their hands.
I looked at the needles in horror, as I had no idea how many people had shared that needle before. If I got infected through this, that would be the end of my life.
Andrea laughed hysterically. "Arianna, this is your karma!"
I didn't know where I got the strength from, but I seized her hand and threw her in the direction of the approaching crowd. With no room for hesitation, I grabbed Yana and ran out of the alley.
Fortunately, the alley was not that long, and those outlaws did not manage to catch up with us. As for Andrea, she probably could not catch up with us either.
