Estella was also in shock, but she immediately ran for the guards. I watched Vincent, who had pinned the man on the ground, and said, "Don't hurt him. It would be hard to explain to the police later."
Upholding justice and hurting others were two different things. If he hurt the man, he would be charged with assault.
Vincent seemed to have heard what I said. When he beat the man, he was skillful. It looked like he didn't hit him hard and there were no serious injuries on his body, but the man on the ground groaned in pain.
Later on, the security guards came with Estella and pulled them apart. Then, the police soon arrived. Because Vincent was involved in the fight, the police took him away to lodge a report.
Freya and Shirley were done with their shopping. I suggested to them, "Shall we go to the police station as well?"
Freya frowned. "What for? That woman deserves it. She's lucky that she only received a beating and nothing more. She would just be a scourge if she stayed alive anyway."
I shook my head and answered, "No, I think we should go. I'm afraid that Eunice will say something against the righteous man. He will be in trouble then. Let's go and have a look."
Shirley was puzzled. "Why would she do that? If it weren't for him helping her, she would have been beaten to death."
I shrugged. "It's hard to say. Let's go and have a look. We're almost done here anyway."
They shot each other a look and agreed that they were done with their shopping. Therefore, they nodded. "Okay, let's go!"
We went to the police station. Vincent and the man were locked up and questioned. Eunice was taken to an interrogation room. A policeman was cleaning her wounds while another interrogated her about what happened.
