"I see," I replied. Looking at his stagnant face, my lips curled up into a smile.
After being together for so many years, I still had some understanding of Hendrix.
His good appearance and outstanding business talents had attracted lots of women. Other than those beautiful faces and high- flying businesswomen, there had also been ladies from wealthy families pining after him. However, in the end, their efforts were all in vain. Hendrix probably didn't even remember their faces. When it came to his subordinates, most of the time, he didn't even seem to give much notice to them, and Estella was no exception.
However, it didn't mean Estella wasn't falling in love with Hendrix. I made up my mind to personally urge Evan to come back quickly.
Everyone had the right to pursue whatever they wanted in their life. However, once they realized that they were pursuing the wrong thing, they should be stopped in time.
I was really worried that history would repeat itself. Andrea had been so obsessed with Hendrix. Apart from her personality, the other reason was that she had spent too much time and energy on Hendrix. She wouldn't have been satisfied if she didn't achieve what she desired. With the mixture of depressed feelings and hesitant emotions, her mind had been distorted day after day.
Estella was a smart person. She could help Hendrix at work. However, she might have ulterior motives. I didn't want to embarrass her that much. I was hoping that Evan would come back, and let her be aware of the reality.
After the worries in my heart were dispelled, I went to sit beside Hendrix to keep him company as he was eating.
Hendrix paused and tilted his head to look at me. After a moment of thought, he put down his utensils and said, "It's getting late now. Let's go home."
He then picked up the coat next to him, pulled me up and walked out.
I felt confused at that moment. As we were leaving the office, I asked, "What about your work?"
"Forget it," Hendrix replied. He seemed to be very anxious. He held my hand while walking out of the office. When we passed Estella, she stood up to greet us. However, he was walking faster and faster as if he didn't hear her.
Hendrix seemed to be a little excited when we reached the elevator. He kept staring at the elevator's floor with his dark eyes, but I couldn't tell what he was thinking.
