My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1600

I answered, "Okay. You can go and serve the guest first. We'll head down right away."

The guest came over at just the right time. Freya knew it was time to stop pestering me about Estella. She accompanied me to sort out the documents before we went downstairs together.

Although the holidays were over, it was tradition for the locals to celebrate it for the rest of the month. I figured the guest should be a distant relative, a friend, or business partners who might or might not be close with us. When we went downstairs, I saw a man sitting with his back facing me in a business suit and blonde hair. It was a foreigner. I found his back familiar, as if I had seen him somewhere else before.

We reached the living room and went around the sofa. I realized that that foreign man was indeed no stranger to me. I called out, "Mr. Sean?"

GW Group had just been rejected by Hendrix on the financing project that morning. Sean obviously came with a purpose and was not just visiting.

After greeting each other, we all sat down. Sean was talkative as usual, but the conversation revolved around Hendrix and I, from our relationship to how I miscarried twice. Freya's expression darkened as she was listening to Sean.

"Wow, you've gone through a lot before being able to build such a strong relationship. Your relationship doesn't come easily, and it is, in fact, very enviable. But the past is in the past, and life is about looking forward. Mrs. Roberts, what do you think?" Sean changed the topic out of nowhere, and he suddenly became so motivational from the way he spoke, seeming like a priest.

I nodded in approval and said, "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Sean. We've already walked out of the past and put our negative emotions behind us."

Sean nodded as well, as if he really sympathized with me. He seemed to have remembered something all of a sudden. He took out a business card from the pocket in his suit, and pushed it in front of me across the coffee table.

"I almost forgot about it, Mrs. Roberts. I'm here to recommend you to one of the most famous prenatal nursing homes in Mesville. The company is under GW Group. The safety and health policies of the prenatal nursing home are guaranteed. It will definitely provide the best care for pregnant women," Sean suggested.

I picked up the business card and glanced at it before handing it to Freya beside me. I asked in confusion, "Mr. Sean, what do you mean?"

Nothing was free in the world. Sean had been triggered by Hendrix in the morning, and right then, he was here to show kindness. Perhaps, he had no other choice but to reveal his real motive now.

"Well... Your last two pregnancies didn't end well. I was thinking that our nursing home can take care of you during your pregnancy this time, so that nothing will go wrong," Sean said. He spread his hands and crossed his legs, changing to a more comfortable posture on the sofa.

I was just about to ask him why he was being so kind when Freya suddenly spoke up for me. She had a serious expression.

Freya returned his business card and said bluntly, "Just spit out what you really want, Mr... Sean?"

Freya had a strong educational background and was fluent in Sean's language. She wouldn't be afraid even if she faced a professional translator. Now that she was using it on Sean, it made her look even more dignified than those business leaders.

Perhaps Freya was too domineering. Sean was stunned for a moment before he smiled again, saying, "I've long heard that Miss Moore of the Moore family in Jarold City is eloquent. You're indeed smart. I finally got to meet you today."

"I'm flattered." Freya had never softened down for people like him. Her face was still as cold as ice. Freya continued, "I'm certainly nowhere close to the likes of top companies like GW Group. There's no need for you to fake such a compliment. Let me guess... Of course, Mr. Sean will be more than happy to take care of Arianna during her pregnancy. In exchange, she will persuade Hendrix to restart the financing project again. Am I right?"
