My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1603

During this period, Roberts Group proposed an acquisition to Eisen Company. Eisen Company had two months to make their decision. Hendrix made a generous offer. Therefore, there would probably be a drastic trend of share transfers in the industry soon.

When Rowane barged into the house, Hendrix was having a meal with me.

Her stilettos clicked loudly against the floor before we even saw her enter, in line with her flamboyant personality.

Rowane entered the living room and walked around. I was the first to notice her as I called out, "Miss Zanes, have you had dinner? Come and join us."

Hearing my voice, Rowane turned around. I found that she was not only out of breath but also had an unpleasant expression on her face.

Rowane walked over and threw the documents in her hands in front of Hendrix, shouting in anger, "Mr. Roberts, why didn't you discuss this with us? Our Al development is already showing some positive results. What's the meaning of you acquiring Eisen Company? Are you planning to fire

our Al team?"

Although it was not the first time I had witnessed Rowane's bad temper, I was still shocked. I could tell that Rowane was really furious. I quickly comforted her in a reassuring manner. "Calm down. Let's sit down and have a talk."

Rowane was still really mad and crossed her arms in front of her chest. She had no intention of making concessions.

Rowane didn't like me before. When Hendrix ignored her completely, sitting on the chair as he carefully fed me soup, it enraged Rowane.

Hendrix really did care for me, but sometimes, he made me seem like a good-for-nothing, who only knew to seduce him and make him lose focus at work. I hurriedly pushed him away and gave him a look. Work was more important.

Only then did Hendrix slowly put down the bowl of soup in his hand and turn around with an indifferent expression on his face. "This is a decision made by the executives. You're just a technician. Please know your place, Rowane."

Hendrix's words were a bit harsh, but his words were not unreasonable. Rowane was experienced and skilled, but she was just a senior technician in Roberts Group. The decisions in business development were indeed not part of her responsibilities.

She was just a technician, but she barged into her boss' house and questioned him with no mercy. Hendrix was being kind enough, I thought. If it had been someone else, Rowane would probably be fired.

Rowane had always been very competitive, and she didn't intend to admit her mistakes. With an arrogant attitude, she questioned, "Yes, I'm just in charge of Al. But Mr. Roberts, in the past few years, the company invested hundreds of millions in Al development. The overseas companies made quite a profit because of this. That's why Roberts Group was in such a hurry to establish our own Al department. My subordinates worked day and night. Now that the results of the first phase are finally out, you're telling me that you're acquiring a robotics company in Denmiles? What about our team?"

I could understand Rowane. The company's budget was limited, and it wasn't a small amount of money that was needed to acquire a company. Acquiring a new company would definitely reduce the budget for the Al department. Slowing down would be a small matter. Discouraging the members of the Al team, however, would be a big deal. If they were not careful, the cost incurred for earlier developments would all be for no reason.

Rowane brought up the Al department of the company step by step. It was no wonder that her anger was so over the top.
