My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1609

Hearing what I had said, Irvin suddenly felt discouraged. He let go of my hand and turned his head, looking a little disappointed, saying, "That's not what I'm talking about."

"Then what else?" I asked. It suddenly came to me that Irvin did not have to come to me personally. If he wanted to send more people for the search, he could have given me a phone call. He risked his life and was almost brought to the basement by the bodyguards for interrogation, thinking that he was an assassin. He must have other requests.

I seemed to know what he wanted, but I was not sure.

After a while, Irvin looked at me with his tortured, frail gaze. He opened his dried lips and said, "I know Hendrix is also negotiating with GW Group.”

A week later, Roberts Group issued a notice. Their subsidiary company in Denmiles had formed a partnership with an intermediary agency there. Through a swap trading method, they obtained eighteen percent more of Eisen Company's shares. So far, Roberts Group owned more than fifty percent of Eisen Company's shares, which meant they had successfully acquired it.

Numerous investors had filed a complaint to the government of Denmiles that Hendrix was deliberately controlling the stocks. They insisted on receiving compensation for their loss in hedge funding. While the government was dismissing the counter- charge, Hendrix's plane landed in Jarold City.

One hour later, Hendrix arrived home.

"Congratulations, Mr. Roberts, for returning with victory." I spread my arms wide and gave him a hug.

Hendrix did not hold back. He hugged me for quite a while in front of Anne before releasing me.

After Anne got her presents, Minnie took her away to play.

After half a month, we could finally sit together again. We chatted for quite a while.

"Do you know? The foreign media said that you're too vicious. Many of them blamed you because small investors decided to end their lives after suffering losses. It seems that they're also preparing to file a complaint on your plan to officially complete the acquisition of Eisen Company. Anyway, they're not going to let you go..." I said. These were all the comments I had seen on Twitter. It wasn't the exact same thing I had read, but it had been a long time since I last saw him, so I was kind of teasing him.

Hendrix seemed unbothered. He leaned sideways and pulled me in his arms, holding my hand and fiddling with it like always, saying, "Just let them be. It's not the first time anyway. I'm not the first to be doing this. Those predecessors who made tons of profit have lots of people jealous of them as well. Those jealous people failed to sue them in Denmiles, so they continued it in Mesville. Guess what, they were dismissed by Mesville. In the end, they got nothing in return. If they're so willing to make a fool of themselves, I'm not interested in stopping them..."

I was not familiar with stock markets, but I could tell from Hendrix's tone that he handled that matter well. He wouldn't let anyone get hold of his weak spot.

With Eisen Company's technology, Roberts Group only needed to work hard to develop their own storehouse network. It wouldn't be long before Roberts Group dominated Jarold City.

I was silent for a long time. I kept sneaking glances at Hendrix's expression. Seeing that he was in a good mood, I suddenly asked, "Did GW Group interrupt the acquisition process?"

Hendrix suddenly raised his head and stared at me with a pair of dark eyes as if he could instantly see through my thoughts. He asked, "Why did you suddenly mention them?"

I turned my head away and avoided his gaze. "Just... I'm just asking. Didn't you say that GW Group is very ambitious? I'm just worried that you might miss out on something and let them take advantage of the situation..."

As I spoke, I suddenly felt that there was no need for me to feel guilty at all. Turning around, I raised my chin and fiercely forced Hendrix to step back. "What's wrong with that! As your good wife, of course I have to be considerate for you! Can't I?"
