I thought that Hendrix would not show up again. At eight o'clock, he came in with dinner with the security guards. I sat on the sofa and looked at him blankly.
There was no expression on his face. He came over to me and helped me to get up and walk to the dining table. Like all couples who were pregnant, we were careful, step by step.
We sat opposite each other. Hendrix seemed to be busier than before, and he had to stop to reply to messages on the phone when eating. I wanted to talk to him, but I couldn't find a chance to speak.
Finally, half an hour later, his phone went silent.
I put down my utensils and was about to speak when we heard rustling footsteps from the door.
"Wow, wow, wow, Hendrix, are you sure this lifeless place belongs to the Roberts Group President?" Tobias looked the same as the last time we had met. The expensive suit could not cover his rugged look.
He stopped in the middle of the living room and turned his face around. His eyes met mine, but he did not stop talking. "With this atmosphere, I thought you guys built a private prison here and wanted to imprison me. Arianna, this must be your idea, right? You wanted to see me!"
Well, I was wrong. Tobias was another one who was fearless. He'd dared to flirt with Hendrix's wife in front of him. It was hard to find such a person who would dare.
I was speechless. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw that Hendrix didn't seem surprised at his arrival. He was slowly munching on the dishes on the table, looking calm.
Tobias acted as if he did not care about his own life. He pulled out the chair beside me and sat down as put his elbow on the table, held his temple, and looked depressed. "To be honest, I can feel that you miss me. I'm just too busy. You won't blame me, right?"
I was so embarrassed that I poked the ground with my toe. The corner of my mouth twitched and I asked directly, "What's up, Mr. Hayes?"
