"Are you alright?" Emma asked Aaron about his injuries with concern.
I looked at Hendrix, who was driving away in a daze, feeling a little unhappy. Did he leave just like that, without even seeing Anne and I?
Just now, from my standing spot, I could see Hendrix extremely clearly, and his cold and indifferent face was engraved in my mind. I couldn't pretend I saw nothing.
As for Aaron and the Reid family, Hendrix should've regarded them as a family, like me. That expression of his really scared me.
The morning breeze was a little chilly, hence I wrapped my arms around myself to keep warm. I turned to look at Aaron, as he could no longer pretend to know nothing.
Aaron led me to Charles's room. The atmosphere was so tense that it made me feel uneasy.
After asking me to sit down for a while, Charles spoke again, "Arianna, don't go back to the Roberts Mansion in the future. The Reid family will take care of you and your child."
It seemed that Aaron also had not told the truth to Emma. They did intend to let me live here forever, not just for a period of time. I still could not comprehend and asked, "Why?"
Charles frowned deeply and looked down, as if he was struggling to say something.
I couldn't wait any longer, so I directed the question at Aaron, who had been silent. "Tell me."
As an elder, Charles had a lot of things to worry about. But Aaron and I had experienced a lot, we were both family and friends at the same time. There was nothing to be afraid of.
Upon hearing this, Aaron recovered from his trance. He slowly raised his head and stared at me with his icy eyes. We looked at each other for more than ten seconds before he broke the silence.
