It had been too long since someone talked to Elijah like this. Anger appeared on his face. He gritted his teeth, glared at Aaron, and turned to leave.
After just two steps, Elijah suddenly stopped, turned his head, and looked at me before he left.
"Humph." Aaron suddenly snorted. "Do you really think that the city is under the control of the Forbes family? How dare you provoke my family. Prepare for chaos for the rest of your life!"
"Enough, Aaron, he's gone." I didn't want to let his hatred grow at this time. At least for now, what Elijah was capable of was far beyond our imagination. Many things were not clear, and it was not good to cause unnecessary trouble.
Aaron shut his mouth sulkily. After exchanging a look with me, he gave Hendrix an angry look and then unwillingly went upstairs to leave the room to us.
Minnie hadn't seen me for a long time. She was busy in the kitchen, and she came out with soup. "Mrs. Roberts, have some soup!"
Sometimes, I really envied Minnie. She could be happy easily.
I took the soup with a smile and said, "Madam Parker, I have something to talk about with Hendrix. You may go out first and don't let anyone else disturb us."
Minnie replied, "Oh, okay, you guys talk. I'll prepare other healthy foods for you. You haven't been home these days, how can I take care of you? Please don't leave again this time. I have to take care of the children in your belly!"
"Alright, you may leave now." Hendrix cut Minnie off and chased her out.
When Minnie left, Hendrix took the soup from my hands and fed it to me carefully.
His noble and cold face was close. He looked so gentle and everything was in peace. I really hoped that everything that happened during the day was just a nightmare.
