My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1702

After getting out of the car, the only light that could be seen was the headlights of the car, and the candlelight shining out of the castle gate. The boundless darkness around us seemed about to swallow us at any moment. The cold winter wind whistled by, and the candlelight swayed in the breeze. It seemed like the whole castle was crumbling.

Through the crack of the door, I could see a familiar figure standing in the lobby. The man was wearing a black cloak and staring up at the Jesus portrait on the wall. No one knew what he was thinking.

Noticing our movement, the man turned around. The moment our eyes met, I frowned and didn't want to believe what I was seeing.

"Irvin?" Did he deliberately lure me here?

After a year's separation, he seemed to have become a different person. His whole chin was covered in stubble, which made him look even more masculine.

"Finally, we meet again." Irvin's voice was hoarse. He stared at my face, his gaze blank as if he was looking at someone else.

I felt a little strange being stared like this and asked, "Were you also brought here?"

"Ha, you're so naive." The woman laughed sarcastically and then said to the bodyguard behind her, "Go upstairs. The doctor is waiting."

"I'll leave her to you." After saying this to Irvin, the woman went upstairs with the bodyguard.

As soon as they left, only the two of us were left in the hall. The door behind them was closed by the servants, and the north wind was gone. It was silent.

"Follow me." After saying that, Irvin walked to a flight of stairs opposite the one the woman and the bodyguard had climbed.

Although I was curious, I still followed him obediently.

There were many rooms on the second floor. Irvin led me all the way down the corridor and finally stopped. He opened the door on the right and stood aside. "This is your room. Have a good rest tonight."
