Hendrix did not speak, but lowered his eyes as he took off his coat, walked towards Serene, and draped it over her.
"Today is the big day of the Forbes Group. Don't let the media capture things that they shouldn't. Go and get changed first."
After he said that, he glanced at me with an obscure look. Then, he turned and passed through the crowd, taking the lead in leaving this unsafe place. Serene eyed sideways at the coat on her shoulders. She seemed to be caught up in her thoughts for a moment, and she walked to the nearest side door.
Since the two main characters had left, there was nothing left to entertain the guests, so they dispersed.
I looked around and tidied up my appearance. I cast a furtive look at Eddison and his group of friends who were already far from me. Only then was I able to finally heave a sigh of relief.
I finally got over one obstacle. I hoped that Hendrix's plan would go smoother after this day's incident.
However, we could not stay in the banquet any longer. After all, it was all just a show. If we put on an act for too long, we would be exposed.
After thinking about it for a moment, I said to Emma and Fabian, "Let's go."
"I don't know where Aaron has gone. I'll find him."
Without giving me a chance to speak, Emma disappeared into the crowd while dragging along the train of her dress. I had no choice but to follow her.
There were many guests in the hall, but it was clear that Aaron was not among them. Emma then led me to the back garden.
As we approached the corridor and turned the corner, we noticed the familiar figure of Aaron in the bright room across. He was standing by the bed with his hands stuffed into his pockets and a stern expression painted over his face. It looked as if he was discussing something important.
"Aaron..."
