Tyler, after pausing for a moment, looked at Aaron with a sneer on his face. He said, "Aaron, I heard that you've been obeying Charles' every word since you've returned from Ucrebury. What happened?"
His words seemed devoid of malice. However, due to the fact that they both were entangled in the word business, it was clear that he was wary of Aaron's true intentions.
"That's none of your business." Aaron returned to my side and sat down leisurely, just like Tyler, the two of them fought like children over a piece of candy. He said, "Can't we just earn some money together?"
Tyler raised his eyebrows and propped his chin on the table, pretending to be deep in thought. A moment later, a cruel look filled his eyes as he asked, "Do you really think that we're stupid enough to let someone in so easily? The Drake family has no time to play such shenanigans with you."
Aaron opened his mouth and was about to respond, but Simon placed down his teacup first and interjected, "Tyler, they're our guests. Do not be rude towards them."
After a brief pause, he looked at Aaron and said patronizingly, 'Aaron, it's not that I don't want to cooperate with you, it's just too much trouble for me to do so. You are aware that with your identity as Mr. Reid's nephew, the property of all members of the organization have to be placed under supervision. Although the Drake family isn't afraid of an investigation, such an incident would besmirch our good name. Bate Coin isn't as profiteering as others say. In the future, should another opportunity to make money arise, you will be the first to be offered a position."
The meaning behind his words was obvious. He wouldn't cooperate with the Reid family.
Truth be told, I understood where he was coming from. No one would willingly let a known enemy into their territory.
"Mr. Drake, you've misunderstood me." I took the opportunity to raise my voice and said, "The one who's looking to make money by collaborating with the Drake family is me, not Aaron."
Hearing that, Simon and Tyler both looked at me at the same time, not bothering to hide the surprise in their eyes.
"Is there a difference?" Tyler said scornfully. "You're a member of the Reid family as well." "Of course there's a difference." I looked at him and continued seriously without hesitating, "Although Charles and I have recognized each other as relatives, we're not related by law. Any investment I make will not cause us any suspicion. Therefore, you two can rest assured that you won't face any losses because of me."
Upon hearing me say that, Tyler reached out and rapped on the table. With a sneer on his face, he asked, "Are you genuinely dumb, or are you just pretending? Do you really think that your relationship with the Reid family can be so easily dismissed just like that? Do you take us as fools?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the secretary behind Simon put a phone beside his ear. After covering his mouth and whispering a few words, she leaned down towards Simon.
Hearing her message, he replied in a low voice. After which the secretary smiled politely at us and promptly left.
As soon as the secretary turned around, Simon had an obscure smile on his face as he said, "What a lucky day it is. Mr. Reid, Miss Reid, why don't you have a chat with a few of my friends? They're quite interested in Bate Coin as well."
His expression flustered me a little, but I kept calm. He said, "Of course, we must have ourselves a fair fight. If you don't meet with the others, how will I know which one of you is more valuable?"
Simon wore a sinister smile on his face, it was a terrifying one.
