My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1801

Hendrix sighed and lowered his voice, "If that's the case, I should be punished just the same."

I was at a loss for words. Over the phone, we were locked in silence.

Hendrix finally broke the silence.

"Arianna, my love for Anne is no different from yours. As you can see, after meeting him, Anne had become much more cheerful and gets a little better every day. Our children shouldn't only live in the spaces we allow them to. She should grow to be more lively, confident, and have the courage to face society. Neither you nor I could bring Anne out of her shell, but Josiah did. For Anne's sake, it’ s worth a try, isn't it?"

"I know what you're worried about. My people are always keeping an eye on Josiah. If he comes into contact with anything that may harm her, they'll lock him up right away. I guarantee you that this time, he doesn't have any other purpose other than to help Anne blend into society."

It seemed like Hendrix had some sort of magical power. With just a few words, I could feel the rising anger in my heart vanish in an instant.

Even if I disagreed, what could I do? With Hendrix around, no matter how many plans you had, it would all be in vain. He had many ways to deal with them. He'd even spent so much money to bolster the Saunders family's defenses.

"Alright, I can promise you that I'll allow Josiah to continue to use his identity as a teacher to conduct his psychological therapy on Anne, but within reason. You must warn him not to reveal his identity and not to have any ideas about gaining custody over her. Also, I will give him, at most, two years. If in two years, she doesn't show any improvement, he must leave immediately."

"Yes, if necessary, I'll get him to sign a contract," Hendrix added.

"You don't have to do that." I didn't intend to let things be. Instead, I said mockingly, "Josiah isn't worthy of my trust, not even with a legally binding document. You're his guarantor. If anything happens, you'll be responsible for him."
