My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1807

"Ha..." Hendrix was secretly pleased with this and swiftly pecked me in the ear when I wasn't paying attention. He then loosened his grip and took a step back.

In that instant, my face burned uncontrollably. I quickly reached out to stop him. I noticed that Hendrix enjoyed my reaction, so I rolled my eyes and warned him, "Don't laugh!"

I was still mad at him!

The corners of Hendrix's mouth curled up, but he quickly calmed down and composed himself, "I have to be on guard all the time in front of others. I'm already so exhausted, yet I still have to suppress my feelings towards my wife?"

I tidied up my clothes and looked at him indifferently, "Is there a difference? Anyway, your ability to conceal secrets is top notch. Hiding secrets from one more person shouldn't be any trouble for you."

Hendrix frowned, "Are you still mad about Josiah?"

I smiled and went to the sink to fix my makeup, "Maybe you ought to take a good look at your friend. He talked about getting a paternity test and was ready to sue me for custody."

Hendrix looked a little helpless when he heard that, he then said, "He already explained that to me. He hadn't expected you to discover him in such a short time. The night after he was exposed, he saw the transfer application and knew that you were trying to stop him from seeing Anne. He got anxious, which is why he used such a foolish method. In fact, you knew he would. He didn't even know that since he has a history of hurting Anne, there was no chance of him ever gaining custody."

Sometimes I think Hendrix should be writing speeches. Every word he said was so provocative.

Although I still insisted that Josiah would never change, his words weakened my stance, "Perhaps, only time can prove which of us is right."

When he saw me giving in, Hendrix strode forward and wrapped his arms around me. His heavy head rested on my shoulder, and his face was buried in my hair. He took a deep breath, as if he had come back to life, and held me tighter.
