My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1809

Once he was done speaking, he left with a cold look on his face. He didn't bother to even pause for a moment when he walked past Serene and Tyler.

Only the three of us were left in the corridor when Hendrix left.

It was time for the lead actor to leave now that the show was over, so I tidied up my clothes and got ready to leave.

However, when I walked past Serene, a hand was suddenly shoved in front of me.

Turning my head, I noticed Serene's ghastly face. She looked like she wasn't someone to be trifled with.

"Is there anything else, Miss Forbes?" I asked bravely, without a hint of fear.

"Of course," she sneered, and her voice sounded hostile, "As a woman, I feel sorry for you for failing to keep a man by your side. Now, you're pestering him. Have you no shame?"

Although she had never liked me before, she'd never made it clear in the past. It seemed that she was really affected by that kiss just now.

I continued to tease her, "Shame? Other sacrifices are not worth mentioning if one is able to redeem their loved one."

Serene's fuming eyes narrowed into slits. She ground her teeth and retorted, "That's just wishful thinking. Hendrix may not think the same way. Besides, a man like him certainly deserves better. The Reid family isn't confident in a small business like Bate Coin. I've already overthrown them. Do you really think that you're qualified to compete against me?"

She had finally spoken her mind.

As I expected, after the anniversary banquet, Serene had already developed a strong impression of me. From the bottom of her heart, she believed that I was a self-centered and selfish person, which led her to deduce that I wasn't worthy of Hendrix, let alone being her rival.

That was a pity. It wasn't necessarily a good thing for women to be overconfident.
