My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1815

I was considering whether I should wait for Hendrix to be done with whatever he was occupied with and call him again, but then my phone vibrated.

It was a WhatsApp text from Hendrix, "Honey, I'll take care of myself. Don't worry."

I smiled subtly. Since he didn't forget to joke around during such a crucial situation, he was probably fine.

I put my phone down and went to the nursery to check on my two children. When I passed by Anne's bedroom, the door was left ajar and a light shone out of the gap. Then, I walked in.

Anne was still awake at this time of the night. The computer screen was on, and there she was, sitting in front of the monitor, alone, with her head hung low. I couldn't tell what she was up to.

The last time I came across this similar situation was when Estella approached Anne. Back then, in the company, I dispatched Estella to the logistics department and made her suffer a whole lot. Wasn't that enough for her to give up on her evil intentions?

I slowed down and walked behind Anne skeptically to take a look. It turned out that she was actually doing her homework, and on the computer screen was a mathematics exercise sheet for fourth graders.

I was a little taken aback. The school term had just begun, and yet Anne was already learning at such a level?

After looking at this for a while, I noticed her fourth grade homework exercises on the table as well. She was so focused on her work that she hadn't noticed me.

It was truly unexpected for such a small child to be this hard-working.

Taking a deep breath, I walked over to her right and made sure that she could see me. Then, I bent over and slung my arm over her shoulder while asking softly, "What are you doing, Anne?"

"Mom!" Anne exclaimed and beamed when she saw me. She moved her hands away to reveal the contents of the exercise book and proudly said, "Mathematics is so interesting. Mr. Clark praised me for being smart, so he arranged some exercises for me. I'm doing them now!"

"Is that so..." I muttered.
