My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1833

Hendrix was quiet as he kept his steady gaze on me. After a few seconds, he finally said, "I have nothing to hide from you. If you really want to see what it is, I will arrange for it to be ready as soon as possible."

I did not expect him to be so frank. After a moment of hesitation, I nodded and replied earnestly, "Okay."

Hendrix kept his word. That night, he brought me away from the Reid family secretly and after making a few rounds in the city, we entered a biotechnology company.

When we arrived, Evan was already waiting at the door. He did not seem surprised when he saw me. As usual, he bowed respectfully and greeted us, "Sir, Madam."

Hendrix nodded his head in acknowledgement.

I pulled a long face, unable to conceal my emotions.

Even after more than ten hours, the aching on my neck was still throbbing. One could imagine how hard I had been knocked out by Evan that night.

Hendrix strode in familiarly, and I followed closely behind. I tried to keep up with his footsteps.

Unlike the hospital corridor that was filled with corners and turns, the biotechnology lab was right in front of us the moment the elevator doors opened.

The lab was cold and full of glass equipment. In the middle of the room was a glass container as tall as a person. It hung in the air and contained a transparent liquid in it. In its center was a green reagent tube. Both ends seemed to be pumped with air, constantly steaming with bubbles.

I stared at the apparatus, lost in thoughts.

"Mr. Roberts, you've arrived," a voice was heard.

The familiar sound pulled me back to reality. I looked over and noticed an old, white-haired man shaking hands with Hendrix.
