Hearing this, I took a long sigh of relief. I could finally get rid of the dramatics of this meal.
But Hendrix didn't seem to buy into it at all. Instead, he drooped his face and said indifferently, "No business talk when we eat."
I couldn't help snickering in my heart at his nonchalant look.
This meal made Hendrix look like a cuckold by placing me with Santiago. I doubt Alwin would ever get the chance to dabble in the real estate industry.
Alwin's hand was still hanging in the air, and his smile instantly froze and his face darkened.
Someone who could associate themselves with Santiago was undoubtedly one of the most important people in Jarold City. Alwin was used to being flattered. However, Hendrix did not even cast a glance his way. He was indeed acting a little too arrogant.
The atmosphere, which had just eased up, tensed again.
Although Serene frowned and didn't want to offend Alwin, she couldn't outright go against Hendrix, so she could only sit still.
As Alwin's face darkened and was about to lose his temper, Santiago said in a calm voice, "Mr. Zellweger, it seems you're a lightweight. I think you're drunk. You should put your business aside for the time being. Should we talk about how to generate revenue for your company first?"
In the business world, taking advantage of a situation to seize an opportunity was an easy task. Alwin immediately smiled and toasted Santiago, "Mr. Jenkins, you really are direct. I'll give you five more shares on top of what we've agreed on to commend you for your audacity!"
Santiago smiled faintly, "It doesn't matter; as long as everyone is happy."
Money didn't seem to matter to him. He acted as if he wielded the greatest power in his hands and had the whole situation wrapped around his fingers.
Both of them echoed after each other and raised their glasses. However, Hendrix's light voice sounded, "There's nothing great about the Roberts Group, except for our sharp- eyed employees. Those who lack potential will not have the chance to even enter the president's office."
As he finished speaking, Alwin stiffened and his face turned completely dark.
