My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1871

The guests were all decent people, and they watched the ceremony take place quietly. Although the atmosphere was tense, it was a gratifying ceremony.

Death was not the end of everything. Perhaps the departed had just gone off to another world, and was living a more stable life there.

After the memorial service was over, the guests went forward to give their gifts and to send off their old friend. Everything went on in an orderly manner. Suddenly, a woman wearing a beret caught my attention.

The woman was tall, comparable to a model. Her eyes were beautiful and bright, and they exuded a sense of confidence. When carefully observed, they were somewhat similar to Hendrix's.

She walked up to Hendrix and raised her chin proudly. She slowly reached out and shook hands with Hendrix without much sympathy. "My condolences."

She then looked at me and followed the guests in front of her. She placed the flowers in front of the portrait for the person in memory.

I was not the only one who noticed her; an eyecatching person like her couldn't escape Hendrix's watchful eyes either.

As expected, before the woman left the place, Hendrix had already secretly said to Evan, "Watch her."

"Yes." Evan understood the order and left to carry out his task.

After the funeral, I followed Hendrix to the garden at the back and we saw the woman again.

She wore sunglasses and was sitting leisurely on the chair. She watched us indifferently as we approached her.

As we sat across from her, we could clearly see our reflection in her sunglasses but had no way of seeing her gaze.

"I've been thinking to myself, what would it be like if I had an older brother? Now, it doesn't seem too disappointing," The woman spoke, breaking the silence.
