A week passed by peacefully on the island after the nurse left.
Hendrix's subordinates locked in on a specific location on the island where the antidote was most likely to be hidden, and began to plan to break in by force.
The next day, Sebastian texted Hendrix to meet him on the island at the golf course at noon.
I obviously wouldn't let him go alone. As the appointed time drew near, I started to pack and got changed, as if I was putting on armor to face a powerful enemy.
Hendrix, however, sat calmly on the sofa as usual, reading his business documents without any panic.
Looking at him, I sighed helplessly.
Sometimes the depth of his emotional control was frightening.
"Is there something on my face?" Hendrix asked as he put his papers down. He crossed his legs and leaned back on the sofa behind him. "You must have gotten distracted staring at me. Were you applying some powder? If you don't finish it now, you'll have two colors on your face."
I was stunned for a moment before I realized that I had only applied half of my makeup. I quickly spread it even and said, "Why are you so sure about Sebastian? What if he's planning an ambush?"
Sebastian was my nemesis. As long as he was around, nothing good would come out of it.
Hendrix raised the documents again and read them leisurely, "I'm not worried about Sebastian. Knowing what he's like, before he can guarantee that he can control the Moore and the Reid family in the city, he will not dare take the children away by force, nor will he let anything happen to us. Otherwise, he'll have them to deal with."
He paused for a while and continued, "I forgot to tell you that I made a small sum of money from a previous investment. I took this small amount of money and got registered at the Swiss Bank. If something happened to me, someone would use this money to offer a reward for bounty hunters to seek the culprits."
