My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1904

Irvin seemed to have read my mind and blurted, "I live next door. You can call me whenever you need me. We'll think about those things once you get used to living here."

I felt relieved instantly and could not help having a better impression of such a thoughtful man.

"Okay," I said with a smile.

Irvin smiled faintly and walked to the cabinet. He picked up a remote control and pointed it at the television. "Do you remember this?"

I felt a little awkward at the question. "It's just a television..."

Amnesia was not dementia, so I still had common sense.

Irvin smiled sheepishly and said, "Sorry, I was just teasing you."

Then, he turned on the television and browsed through the various programs.

He stopped inadvertently at the news about financial reports.

"A few days ago, Hendrix, the president of Roberts Group..."

Irvin was about to change the channel, but before he did, he turned to look at me and found me with a look of surprise on my face.

The host was enthusiastically reporting about Hendrix attending a charity auction. The man was dressed in a tall, black-framed suit, and his every move exuded a restrained and cold temperament. He looked like a natural winner, and even the arc of his eyebrows gave off such confidence.

Irvin might have stayed patient because it was rare for me to be this focused. He lowered his gaze calmly and said, "I thought you would be more interested in the legal channel."

"Why?" I blurted out. Then, I suddenly remembered something and explained, 'Tve seen this man before. He was at the intersection earlier. His car was parked next to ours."

Thinking of Hendrix's ice-cold eyes, I couldn't help shivering, but I still couldn't help staring at the television.

It was as if our meeting at the crossroads was too brief, and this television program was arranged by the universe to quell my curiosity.

However, Hendrix had little screen time. Whoever was covering his story had such poor reporting skills. They couldn't even capture half of the man's handsomeness.

"Is that so..." Irvin replied absent-mindedly, "I didn't

notice."

As soon as he finished speaking, the frame changed to other business giants.

"Him and his son look exactly the same. Both of them are beautiful, but Hendrix was talking to the kid very formally. It was as if they weren't father and son..." Thinking of the little gentleman who wanted to jump out of the window, my lips couldn't help but curl into a smile as I thought about how cute he was.

Still, the kid's surname was strange.

"The paparazzi are paying more attention to Hendrix these days. It's said that the court had decided after his divorce that he has custody of his son while the daughter belongs to the mother's side, though the two families haven't made a clear statement." Irvin's eyes were fixed on me as he spoke, as if he was expectant of something.

I was a little confused by this and just expressed my view as an ordinary bystander. "Is he a superstar? Why do so many people care so much about such private affairs?"

Although a little old, he was still very good looking. He sure had the looks of a movie star.

Irvin looked down and said, "Roberts Group is the largest construction developer in the country. In fact, they are now the wealthiest in the country. No one can rival them in terms of monopoly."

"Doesn't this mean that I just missed a photo op with the richest man in the city?" I gulped in surprise.

Irvin laughed, as if my response was the source of his happiness. After that, he continued giving me a general introduction about Hendrix and Roberts Group.

Unexpectedly, I didn't feel bored hearing about this unknown man and his business.

Of course, I had listened to his explanation as a member of the Granger Group. I had no other thoughts except admiration for this talented business genius.

When Irvin finished speaking, I suddenly raised a question from a tricky angle, "Ordinary people get married when they are young, when it is easy to have their feelings cultivated. Hendrix and his fiancee have been gossiped about for such a long time, yet they haven't gotten their marriage certificate yet. Don't you think that Hendrix is just playing around and doesn't intend to take responsibility for the woman?"

Gossip was a woman's talent. I had heard some rumors back when I was in the hospital, so I was not completely in the dark regarding Hendrix's history.

After his divorce, he met his fiancee, Serene, who was a career- oriented woman. She was rich, beautiful and had a great figure, but they remained unmarried.
