My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1912

By the time I turned around, the owner of the voice had already entered the VIP room.

Hendrix was wearing a grey suit vest, and the ends of his trousers met the floor vertically without any wrinkles. His black slicked-back hair was combed nicely, just as how he appeared on the television show. It could be seen that he had dressed up scrupulously, which made him a prepossessing sight in young ladies' eyes.

He shot an apathetic glance at me and lowered his eyes expressionlessly to gaze at his son. "Still not going to let go of her?"

When Wynn heard this, his naive face puckered even more. "No, I want Mom. I want this auntie instead of Madam Forbes to be my mom!"

I was so embarrassed by this turn of events that I didn't even know where to put my hands. I could only smile apologetically. "Perhaps the kid is missing his mother..."

"If it weren't because of that, do you think you would have the opportunity to approach him?" Hendrix stared at me unemotionally. His cold expression made me suspect if he was a coldblooded monster innately.

Discerning the note of sarcasm in his words, the smile froze on my face. "Mr. Roberts, I think you must have misunderstood. It's..."

Hendrix did not give me a chance to finish speaking. He walked over and forcefully removed Wynn's hand as he said, "There are so many women thirsting for the status as Mrs. Roberts. Indeed, you've stood out from the rest."

Pausing briefly, he signaled for Wynn to keep a distance from me with his eyes. Although the child was obstinate, he couldn't defy his father. He therefore grudgingly lifted his little feet and moved away from me.

Only then did Hendrix raise his head with satisfaction and looked at me. "You're very smart. You know how to make use of your strengths, but you've chosen the wrong person to use it on. If you want to marry the richest man around, you can save yourself a lot of time by just coming at me straight. If you take another furtive attempt to get close to my son again, you'll have to bear the consequences, mark my words."

Was he really warning me with such a condescending tone?
