My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1949

Hearing that, Irvin gritted his teeth and looked at me resentfully. Finally, he gave in and said, "It is you've said, we are in that type of relationship."

He paused for a moment and regained his usual arrogance. "Can I take her away now?"

Hendrix finally smiled contentedly. As waved his hand, his men immediately retreated to make way forthem.

Irvin took two steps forward and suddenly stopped. He turned his head and looked in my direction. His eyes flashed with guilt, but he also seemed concerned. He finally left accompanied by Hendrix's men.

As soon as they left, Hendrix's face instantly turned dark. After Evan passed a document respectfully to Hendrix, he led his men out tactfully.

It was only Hendrix and me in this large living room.

Hendrix's gaze fell directly on me, and a complex look flashed across his eyes. His imposing manner filled the room.

I felt uneasy with his eyes on me and muttered, "Mr. Roberts?"

Hendrix opened his mouth, "It seems that Miss Reid's fiance wasn't as he seems."

Huh? Was he making a sarcastic remark?

"Mr. Roberts, what do you mean?" Even though Hendrix and Irvin didn't like each other, he should still have some basic respect for that man.

Regardless of whether Irvin was right or not, how could Hendrix claim that he didn't harbor any evil intent when he exposed him like that?

"Nothing." Hendrix raised his eyebrows and said slowly, "I don't have any other skills except for being good at business. Still, I did cost you your fiance, so I should compensate you."

"Compensate me? How?"
