My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 2062

I soon put that thought aside.

Standing in front of me was just a child, A poor child who had lost his family and had no one to depend on. Just surviving was a big problem for him, never mind the possibility of him scheming against us.

I then felt really guilty for thinking that a child like him would scheme like an adult would.

"Alright." Hendrix didn't seem suspicious of him. He nodded for Neal to leave and said, "It's getting late. You should return to your room and rest."

"Yes, sir." Neal bowed respectfully before leaving the living room.

When it was quiet again, I noticed that Hendrix's eyes were locked onto Neal. He was clearly very suspicious of him.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked.

When he heard my voice, Hendrix turned around as if to say, "He may sound like he's well-educated, but that's not a reason for him to stay close to Aurelia."

With that, he picked up the cup of warm tea on the table that the servants had served earlier and sipped it. He had no intention of continuing the conversation.

We shared the same opinion about him, so I didn't have much to say. With how determined Hendrix was, the fear I felt for our daughter gradually eased.

Hendrix got up early the very next morning. After we had breakfast, he brought me and Wynn over to the villa in the western suburbs.

The servants that accompanied us were replaced by hired servants which Aaron brought from Mesville, they were dressed in casual clothes.

Evan had arrived much earlier and was waiting at the gate of the villa.

Hendrix asked indifferently, "Where is she?"

"Miss Marshall is in the master bedroom on the first floor. She has been begging us to find a doctor..."

Hendrix acted as though he hadn't heard anything and strode into the room.
