The room instantly became deathly silent. Hendrix looked very uncomfortable.
"How could you be so oblivious as to blurt all of that out?"
Hendrix was dumbfounded. How could his assistant, who had been with him for so long, suddenly not know how to keep certain things quiet?
Even though he wasn't the best with words, it was very obvious that Evan felt sorry for Hendrix. After all, they have gone through thick and thin together. Now that he finally had a chance, he had to grab it and let everyone know what they had gone through.
I had actually hoped that Evan could be like this more often.
"Forget it, you can leave." Hendrix stared coldly at him, then dismissed him.
"I'm sorry, sir." Evan hung his head down and answered solemnly before heading straight out the door.
The moment I looked up, I could see him smiling knowingly.
He really was Hendrix's right- hand man. His intentions were so obvious. It seemed like Evan had grown bolder recently.
Hendrix suddenly muttered, "He's getting more and more rebellious. I guess it's time to recruit another assistant and remind him of his place."
I actually thought that he was very upset, but when I turned to look at him, his face was blank. He looked so much softer and gentler with his soft hair and pajamas.
I pursed my lips and smiled. It wasn't Evan who had grown bolded, it was Hendrix who had lost his vigor over time, making him a much softer man.
I too, was in a situation just like he was before. Aaron tried to change me, but Hendrix's salvation came a little too late.
