Amy came from an ordinary middle class family. Luckily, their ancestors were from Jarold City, so the residential area they lived in was pretty decent. After the driver was done with registration at the guard room, I noticed that the people moving in and out were all in vehicles. Only a few people travelled on foot. The green trees around the residential area were also very well-planned. All of the trees were three feet apart. In Jarold City, every inch of land was like a piece of treasure, this was quite exorbitant.
The car stopped in front of the first unit at block number seven. Evan took the lead with everyone else following him closely.
When we got to the door, Evan rang the doorbell.
"Neal!" Aurelia called out to him. She was sweating from gripping the lollipop in her hand.
However, the temperature in the corridor really was quite high.
They stayed in a two storied apartment, on the eleventh floor. It was a hot summer day and the corridor wasn't very well ventilated. We felt the heat attack us the very moment we left our air-conditioned cars.
After a while, there was no response from inside the apartment. Evan stepped forward and knocked harder on the door.
Still, no response.
My heart skipped a beat, suddenly realizing that it was the weekend. They had probably gone out with Neal for some bonding time.
Freya didn't seem very worried. If we had called Amy in advance, we might have avoided making a fruitless trip.
"Mommy," Aurelia was so excited and thrilled that she had now turned anxious. She turned around and asked, "Why isn't Neal coming out? Does he hate me for not waiting for him?"
"It's not like that. Neal must have gone out with his parents. We will meet him soon."
Feeling guilty, I decided to ask Evan for Amy's number and called her personally. I was going to find out where they were and bring Aurelia over for a meet up as soon as possible.
The call went through after ringing twice. Amy's friendly voice rang in my ears. "Hello, Evan. What's the matter?"
"It's me, Mrs. Roberts. Where are you right now and are you available to talk?" I asked.
